Perth quartet Sophian are back with another slice of dreamy reggae-infused surf rock with their latest single, “Beautiful Day”, and we are thrilled to be premiering it before its release tomorrow.
Fronted by Sophian Manik, the track has a summery-infused reggae groove. The uplifting melody and sweet guitars are artfully stitched together, creating a sonic tapestry in sync with the upbeat and optimistic message. “Beautiful Day” transports the listener to days filled with sunshine and laughter, friends and fun conversations in a coastal nirvana. Fans of Ocean Alley should be finding plenty to love in this latest release from Sophian.
Sophian talks about the inspiration behind “Beautiful Day”; “My wife and I were having a conversation one day around feeling the pressures of society to have life all figured out by a certain age. I saw what it meant it to her and I just wanted to let her know that it’s okay to not have it all figured out yet, life is still beautiful and it’s okay for us to just enjoy that moment. This song is about feeling free and enjoying life around you for just the way it is.”
Since their debut release in 2022, they have been building a solid following, supporting the likes of COTERIE, Bootleg Rascal, Dice, Rum Jungle, South Summit and Lazy Ghost.
The band will launch the single at The Indian Ocean Hotel in Boorloo/Perth on Friday, the 20th of October.
