New Music Discoveries 3rd November: Metteson, Somber Hills, Hellcat Speedracer and more

As we roll into November, we have added another ten tracks to our Discovery playlist on Apple Music and Spotify, including one single we exclusively premiered earlier in the week. Our track of the week is “Waves” from Norwegian pop artist Metteson.

Sydney-based artist Somber Hills is a creative powerhouse and has today released the searing pop-punk anthem “Some Say”. It’s another quality release from the New Zealand-born and now Sydney-based artist and is laced with energy reminiscent of 2000s pop-punk.

The Melbourne alt-metal act The Last Martyr targets tyrants in “Burn It Down”, an empowering singalong complete with glitchy synths and crushing vocals.

Anna Schneider, the indie-folk artist who hails from Boorloo (WA), has dropped “Crush”, an emotive pop-ballad that chronicles the complexities of unattainable love. It’s full of tenderness and melodrama and is jam-packed with feeling.

We pick up the pace in “Tomorrow 1988” from Hellcat Speedracer. The electronic duo comprising Alex Gray and Oliver Critchley have created a slick track, full of catchy hooks and analogue synths, a fun-filled journey, whilst at the same time carrying a message of it being quite okay to reach out and seek help when times are tough. They are about to head out on a tour of Australia and New Zealand – check their Facebook page for more details…

“Multicolour” from Oscar the Wild is another upbeat cut from the Adelaide indie-rockers with punchy riffs and a big hook celebrating living in the moment.

We also have new tracks from Genuine Leather (“Promises”), Hunting Thompson (“Royalty”) and Alejandra O’Leary (“A Word About It”)

Finally, we have an exclusive premiere from Virgin Mary Disco (“For Free”)
