Hilton’s unique Curio Collection debuts in Maldives with SAii Lagoon

It’s hard for a resort to not look absolutely spectacular in the Maldives, but Hilton’s Curio Collection has taken the luxury aesthetics a bit further with SAii Lagoon, the company’s third property in the Maldives. The now-open resort, officially titled SAii Lagoon Maldives, Curio Collection by Hilton, is the first in South East Asia for the highly curated brand of 70 distinctive properties, and looks to continue the collection’s super high standard of one-of-a-kind opulence and character.

SAii Lagoon forms part of the much larger CROSSROADS Maldives, which is the country’s first and only integrates resort and retreat. Described as a free-spirited tropical escape, it takes place in the epic Emboodhoo Lagoon and features a total of 198 rooms and villas just 15 minutes by boat from Malé International Airport.

“For over 20 years, through the many firsts that Hilton has introduced in the Maldives, we have been sparking travelers’ imagination of waking up right above the Indian Ocean, or dining and even sleeping beneath the crystal-blue sea”, said Alan Watts, president, Asia Pacific, Hilton. “ith the launch of SAii Lagoon Maldives, Curio Collection by Hilton, we are looking to further deepen ‘The Hilton Effect’ in the Maldives and continue to set new benchmarks for hospitality through innovation”.

Mirroring the maritime heritage of the Maldives, the design at SAii focuses on bright spaces and modern, eclectic furnishings juxtaposed with natural textures, driftwood décor and shades of blue. Overwater pool villas are course the pinnacle of this approach, but all guests rooms should reflect a similar level of luxury.

As for common areas, the resort boasts the expected ocean-view infinity pool and a kinetic fitness centre complemented by a wide range of water sports and recreational facilities available at the CROSSROADS’ 30-berth marina and lifestyle district. This includes a PADI-certified Watersports & Dive Centre providing regular excursions and private tours into the underwater world, and a Marine Discovery Centre which will teach guests about the resort’s extensive conservation activities. Other facilities include the Lèn Be Well Spa and Junior Beach Club and Camp.

SAii Lagoon features a Mediterranean seafood grill and bar titled Miss Oliver Oyl, as well as a Thai fusion eatery called Mr Tomyam, a coffee boutique dubbed bean/Co, and direct access to world-famous beach club Café del Mar.

To celebrate the hotel’s opening, Hilton Honors members will earn an additional 1,000 Points per night for bookings from now until February 29, 2020 when booking directly with Hilton.
