Glastonbury Festival, known for its diverse lineup and unforgettable performances, is set to have another monumental year. Scattered throughout the legendary lineup are a few of the finest Australian acts. They will share the stage with some of the biggest international acts, with names like Elton John, the Arctic Monkeys, and Guns N’ Roses headlining the event.
These artists are:
THE TESKEY BROTHERS
The Teskey Brothers, hailing from Melbourne, are renowned for their soulful and bluesy sound. Their 2019 album “Run Home Slow” achieved great success, nearly topping the charts and winning three ARIA Music Awards. We are most eager to hear the debut live performance of their new album “The Winding Way“, set for full release on 16 June. With their captivating live performances, the Teskey Bros are poised to leave a lasting impression at Glastonbury Festival.
XAVIER RUDD
A master of combining multiple instruments and powerful lyrics, Xavier Rudd has cemented himself as an iconic figure in the Australian music scene. His song “Follow The Sun” has been streamed over 200 million times on Spotify, and is just one testament to the immense popularity of Xavier Rudd, an acclaimed artist with chart placings, ARIA nominations, and an APRA award. Rudd’s ability to create a unique blend of folk, reggae, and rock has captivated audiences around the world. As he takes the stage at Glastonbury, we can expect an extraordinary performance from this accomplished artist who continues to push boundaries.
WILLIAM CRIGHTON
William Crighton, a captivating folk-rock artist hailing from Dubbo, New South Wales, has been gaining recognition for his haunting storytelling and heartfelt performances. His third and most recent album ‘Water and Dust” garnered critical acclaim and recieved an ARIA Award for Best Blues and Roots Album. His most recent single, a collaboration with Liz Stringer in their interpretation of The Midnight Oil’s “Golden Age” is a rhythmic and lively tune that we definetly hope to hear at Glastonbury.
FANNY LUMSDEN
Country music sensation, Fanny Lumsden has been making waves with her authentic sound and heartfelt storytelling. Her album “Fallow” earned her an ARIA Award and five Golden Guitar Awards, serving as a well deserved testament to her exceptional talent. She writes that she is ‘super stoked’ to be invited, acknowledging that this could not have materialised without the support of her dedicated fans. There is little doubt that she will transport the audience to the heart of rural Australia.
CONFIDENCE MAN
Often described as a ‘portable party’, Confidence Man have become one of the hottest acts on the music scene with their indie electro-pop hits. Their infectious energy and irrestible beats have earned them a nomination for the coveted 2023 AIR Award, placing them among esteemed artists such as Flume and Julia Jacklin. Mastering the art of dance hits with ‘Holiday‘ and ‘Does It Make You Feel Good,’ they are sure to get the crowd grooving with their DJ set at Glastonbury.
HAAi
HAAi is an electronic producer and DJ. Originally hailing from Karratha in Western Australia, HAAi who started her career playing in rock bands has since relocated to London. Last year she released her debut full length album Baby, We’re Ascending which included collaborations with Jon Hopkins, Alexis Taylor and more. You can catch her across the weekend at a few different stages, including San Remo, Stonebridge and Silver Hayes.
SURUSINGHE
Naarm/Melbourne-born Surusinghe is a genre-bending producer and DJ. Now based in London, she was listed on the NME’s 100 Essential Emerging Artists of 2023 earlier this year. Since then she has toured Australia and dropped her new EP Get Flutey in May. She’ll be appearing across the weekend, so make sure to check out this high energy emerging talent.
PRETTY GIRL
Pretty Girl is another rising star coming out of Naarm. A producer, vocalist and DJ, Pretty Girl has been honing her sound – producing dreamy, deep house numbers – and live show over the last two years. In December 2022, she performing her live set to 6000 people at Boiler Room Melbourne. You can catch her at The Levels and Stonebridge Bar at the weekend.
KANGAROO MOON
Kangaroo Moon are a psych-celtic folk fusion ensemble. They were formed in Bellingen NSW, but are now based in Glastonbury. They’re frequent visitors to the festival, and have also played Womad and the National Folk Festival in Australia. They’re popping up at a number of different stages across the weekend.
