Aspera Mobile launches new and feature-packed AS8 4G smart phone

Hot off the heels of the affordable AS5 4G smartphone, Australia’s Aspera Mobile has launched the AS8 4G, one of the most feature-packed budget smartphones you can find for just A$149. Also compatible with 4G networks, the AS8 4G will add to Aspera’s recent goal to combat the rising cost of living. Aspera Mobile has also decided to pack as much as they can into this handset, including face recognition, fingerprint recognition and NFC, enabling contactless payments via Google Wallet.

The AS8 4G will run on an Octa-Core 1.6GHz CPU and feature 2GB RAM and 32GB of storage, in addition to 1GB of VRAM. The phone will sport a 6.3 inch, 20:9, IPS, In-cell HD+ display, and allow for 3G and 4G connectivity with VoLTE. It will also feature dual 8MP and 0.08MP rear cameras and a 5MP front camera, with a large and removable 4000mAh Li-Polymer battery. Much like the AS5 4G, the AS8 4G will take advantage of Android 13’s Go edition for users to access all their favourite apps. To top it all off, this handset will include USB-C charging, Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity.

Aspera Mobile MD Allan Robertson commented on the launch, stating, “The AS8 is a highly featured, lower cost smartphone which is part of our new 2023 range. As with all Aspera phones it is aimed squarely at the budget conscious and those people who want a great smart phone experience but don’t want to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars to get one. It has a high-quality feel, an HD+ display, a great camera and a long-lasting and removable battery. It even comes with a free gel case – all of which make it terrific value at just $149. As such, we believe it is the best value smartphone in the market at that price.”

The new Aspera Mobile AS8 4G smartphone is available now for A$149 and can be purchased at a number of retailers including Big W, Ritchies IGA, Seasons IGA, Freedom Fuels, Trinity Petroleum, Mobileciti, Personal Digital, Mobile Experts and selected BP service stations.
